So my name is Virmz or some of my African friends call me “SINETHEMBA” which means “we have a hope” in the Xhosa language.
I grew up in the Philippines and always was a nomad even when I was still living there. In 2001 I embarked on a journey to Europe where I worked at the Shelter Jordan Christian Youth Hostel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. During my time there I also met many missionaries from Youth With A Mission (YWAM). And it was during this time that I learned about the Discipleship Training School (DTS) and after that I decided to do my own DTS in Carlisle, England in 2003.
Part of my DTS is a 2-3 month cross-cultural outreach. For me that was into SOUTH AFRICA. It was during this time that I sensed God’s calling to serve Him through staffing and leading DTS’s with YWAM and I have been based in South Africa since 2004.
I’m still occasionally involve in running DTS’s and since I’ve seen hundreds of people coming through this program I’m also looking at how to support those people by reminding them of what God has allowed them to experience in the nations and how to continue to live ‘Lifestyle Missions’, to involve locally and invest globally especially in places where people never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.
My heart is to share the HOPE that I have experienced in JESUS and to proclaim His NAME wherever I
go. I want to continue to NETWORK and MOBILIZE Christians from all over the world to be a part of seeing the FATHER’s dream fulfilled in peoples and nations that every TRIBE and TONGUE acknowledge that JESUS is LORD.
