Christmas is always a sensitive time of the year for me. When I was a child it used to be quiet a special occasion for me but when my parents broke up it was always a hard time of the year as it brings also sadness and emptiness when you’re around families. In the last 20+ years I have spent Christmas with my friends family from all over the world which Im quiet grateful and thankful for the welcoming and embracing hearts. Our Heavenly Father indeed set the lonely in families and He has given me lots of families and friends in the nations.
I remember in one of the Discipleship Training Schools that I led, one of the student came to me and cried that she felt so bad that she had such good parents/family and she didn’t have a testimony of how God redeemed like the other students that came from difficult family situations. I encouraged her that having a healthy upbringing/ family environment is part of her testimony and that is a blessing and should have been the normal for all of us as God intended that basic unit of society.
We do live in a broken world and many of us has a painful story. The good news is JESUS came to save us and in whatever circumstances we are in, we can continue to live in HOPE and PURPOSE when we had given our lives to Him. JESUS is making all things new and there is the day when there is no more death or mourning or crying or pain.
I pray that this Christmas you will appreciate all the blessing that God has given you through family and friends and may you will be reminded above all of the real meaning of Christmas- JESUS is the reason for the season and many still yet to hear the good news of the gospel!
